The Transparent Story of Shree Ram Kulfis & Ice Cream

“It is necessary to carry the traditional legacy forward, but at the same time it is equally necessary to change with the times”, said Viraj Acharya, a family business owner along with his father Mr. Prakash Acharya in an exclusive interview with Inked Stories. Mr. Prakash Acharya &Viraj Acharya, this father-son duo owners of the Shri Ram Ice-cream and resident of Mumbai, are new generation men rooting from traditional values. They believe that everyone tries to give the best quality to customers. But, it is the x-factor or the sense of unconventionality in your product that makes your customers choose you over everyone else. Talking about his background and family, Viraj shares that for the past 60 years, their family has been living in Ramji Mandir, Malad West. He completed his schooling and graduated from Nagindas Khandwala College. The name of their business Shri Ram Ice Cream is connected to Ramji Mandir where they are living because he belonged to a family of Brahmins and worshippers of Shree Ram. The business was started by his father and uncle in 1998 and Viraj recalls that he had been contributing to it even before he completed his graduation. On asking how he felt about being a part of his own family business, Viraj said that, unlike new generation kids, he loves his family business. “Everyone works hard to reach somewhere. Then instead of working hard for someone else, why not work for something that’s ours”, adds Viraj Acharya.
